Hay Festival Cartagena
I was invited (at the very last minute!) to photograph the annual Hay Festival in the Colombian city of Cartagena last week.
I duly accepted (who wouldn’t in January!) and whilst there had the privilege to shoot behind the scenes for the organisation. It was whilst waiting for the doors to open to the theatre that I shot (possibly) one of my favourite portraits: Michael Nyman running through a few pieces before his public performance.

Adding an instagram feed to a website
I’ve tried to keep a daily photo blog in the past but have given up after a week or so because of the workflow involved. Shooting on my DSLR, post processing on a computer, resizing for web and uploading via my cms became way too time consuming considering it was a ‘nice to have’, non-essential addition to my website. Instagram has totally changed all of that. Not only has it simplified the whole process to a few clicks but it’s opened up my work to a hugely generous community that give near instantaneous feedback on the pictures I post.
I now approach each day with instagram in mind, taking the time to shoot moments that I think are of interest, worth keeping for reference or indeed worth sharing with the world. I love the fact I can shoot, edit and upload a portfolio of work (a diary of my daily life) via my phone!
However, what about friends without an iPhone or clients that visit my website that don’t know my username (@madebyfinn) or the app itself? How do I display an edited version of my instagram feed on my website?
